The Lovells Township Historical Society is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Glen Blackwood. For over three decades, Glen was a prominent figure in the fly-fishing and wing-shooting communities, both in Michigan and across the United States.
In Lovells, we were fortunate to have Glen as a dedicated supporter of our community, particularly the Trout Fishing History Museum and the North Branch Area Foundation. He was always a welcome presence at our events, most recently attending our annual Fall Upland Dinner, where he shared his wisdom and unique perspectives.
Glen’s passing is a significant loss for all who share a passion for trout, upland birds, dogs, and the art and literature they inspire. He possessed a profound understanding of the spiritual nature of trout streams and woodland habitats. Our world will be a smaller place without his presence.
