We may be a historical society but we believe making history is as important as preserving it. Beyond the museums' walls, the Lovells Township Historical Society remains an active steward of community engagement.

We are always looking for new opportunities to bring our neighbors together so keep your eye out for new events. In the meantime our friends and neighbors have come to expect certain events every year.
Lovells Hot Stove nights have been popular winter events for years. In the quiet months of winter, when our summer visitors are gone and the nights are cold and long it is a pleasure to join neighbors at the township hall and listen to a variety of informative, interesting and inspiring speakers.
First held in 2024 we had so much fun we decided to do it every year. The evening is centered around a good supper and some interesting speakers. Moving forwared we hope to expand the agenda to give a variety of participants the chance to share their upland expertise, products and services.
Every year we have a party to celebrate the opening of Trout Season. The Leaky Wader 1K is a classic and memorable event that is fun for all but we make sure there's more going on too. Stop in the township hall to see artists, vendors and exhibitors. Buy a raffle ticket, have a hot dog make some friends and some memories.
The genius of our former president John Porteous, the BackCast has seen over 14,000 downloads. Always interesting these podcasts focus on interviews with important and interesting people. Some are our neighbors, some are famous. some will be famous but they all have something to say so tune in and spread the word.
