Lovells Museum of Trout Fishing History
The Trout Fishing Museum was a significant step in the evolution of the Historical Society. Crafted from logs in 2001, this building, interestingly and uniquely, is Michigan's ONLY trout fishing history museum.
Each year we present a new set of exhibits based on a different theme while we also maintain an interesting set of permanent artifacts and other exhibits.
The permanent exhibits include:
-
Our tribute to the Unsung Heroes of the Au Sable
-
A fly fishing library
-
A selection of fly fishing films and documentaries
-
A variety of trout flies tied by important artists of the past
-
A detailed reproduction of Art Neumann’s Wanigas rod shop.

Board Members Richard Perry and John Porteous show TU President/CEO Chris Wood around the Museum.
