Leaky Waders 1K​​

Trout are pretty important in these parts and every year we like to celebrate the opening of the official Trout Season on the last Saturday in April.

​

Yes there is a race and no, not everyone takes it seriously. You have to wear your waders if you want to participate. They don't have to leak but it's ok if they do, you won't be in the river. You'll be running, walking or strolling the long kilometer from downtown (corner of Lovells Road and 612) all the way to the township hall.  Cigars and beers are not uncommon for some gentlemen but those seeking prizes will be trying to get to the finish line a little quicker.

And prizes they will get! Area merchants back us up every year and donate some great prizes. And when you get to the township hall you'll find lots more going on including exhibitors, vendors and artists all offering things to learn, buy or take in. You might even find a hot dog and some refreshments, so come join us and help us make history.
