LTHS Receives Grant from the Great Lakes Energy People Fund

Updated: 27 minutes ago

The Lovells Township Historical Society has been awarded a $6,000 grant from the Great Lakes Energy People Fund. These funds will make it possible for us to replace the windows in the Lone Pine Schoolhouse Museum, originally built in 1907 by Gustav Ernst and James Kellogg. Besides housing important exhibits about our local history, the Lonepine Schoolhouse is itself an important piece of Lovells' history and its donation in 1991 by Rudolph Pallone was part of the genesis of our Historical Society. The new windows will by custom made by Eikenhout Inc. in Gaylord and we hope to install them in September.. The windows are important to help maintain the structural integrity of this historic building and they will help protect our collection from insects and the elements.

Why You Should Round Up

This grant highlights the significant contributions the Great Lakes Energy People Fund makes throughout its service area. Members can choose to round up their bill to the nearest dollar and this simple act creates the People Fund and helps hundreds of organizations like the Lovells Township Historical Society.. If you are a GLE member and you 'round up' we thank you! If you are not rounding up take a look at how your small change can make a difference in your community.. The People Fund gave out almost $200,000 to over 40 organizations this year and LTHS is very happy to be one of them.
