Beaver Beer & Banjo

The people of Lovells have always been a resourceful and productive bunch. Winter trapping was a common practice and still is. Not that beaver's aren't cute but the fact is they want to have their way with our beautiful river and if we let them, the North Branch might become the North Ponds. So, trapping continues and in the spirit of our predecessors we continue the annual tradition where we get to hold a big party and eat the winter bounty.

This event was born at the tavern and today, the Lovells Riverside Tavern continues to be the place where we gather to celebrate our town, our river and our tasty beavers! If you're not sure about eating game you don't have to worry, the tavern has a big menu you can choose from.

We will be joined this year by Steel & Wood, a Northern Michigan Bluegrass band who will be putting the Banjo in this year's Beaver, Beer and Banjo. They've also got a mean stand up Bass player, a remarkable Fiddle player and you'll find the sweet tones of Guitars and Mandolins too.

Join us for a lovely summer evening celebration and help us raise some money so we can keep throwing parties like this.
